Privacy notice

Last updated 26 September 2026

Finlay isn’t available yet, so right now the only personal data we collect is what you give us when you join the waitlist. This page explains what that is, why we keep it and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Your mobile number, so we can message you when Finlay is ready for you. Finlay itself lives in your messaging apps, so this is how it will reach you.
  • Your email address, if you choose to add it after joining, for launch news and your monthly Finlay report.
  • Referral details: your personal referral code and, if you joined through a friend’s link, whose link it was. This is how we move people up the queue.
  • Your answers to the optional questions after you join: groups that might get you discounts (for example student, NHS, carer, disabled or receiving benefits), who you bank with and which messaging app you’d like to use.
  • Anonymous usage statistics, such as page views. They don’t use cookies and don’t identify you.

Why we use it

We use your mobile number, email (if you gave it) and referral details to run the waitlist and to contact you about Finlay by text, WhatsApp or email, including when it’s your turn to get access. We rely on your consent, which you give by joining. We won’t send you anything unrelated to Finlay, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

We use your optional answers only to work out which perks and features to build first and, once Finlay launches, to match you with discounts you qualify for. Some of them, like being disabled, count as sensitive data under UK law, so we only store them if you choose to tell us. You can skip the questions entirely.

Where it's kept

Your details are stored and processed in the UK, using trusted providers that host the site and store data for us. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details until Finlay has launched and you’ve had the chance to join, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. Then we delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time. Just email hello@meetfinlay.com and we’ll sort it out.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We’ll update this page as Finlay grows, and we’ll let you know before we make any change to how we use data you’ve already given us.
